when? where? who? why?
Nowadays, sustainable mobility is no more a strange concept to people, especially to metropoles citizens. Inspired and motivated by increased social environment awareness, more and more people choose to get out of their car and hop on public transport like metro, tramway or bus. But I bet you have experienced one of these moments where you feel like suffocated by the sweat of crowd in a canned metro car or where you wait for a bus for so long in a winter night that your feet are freezing. Such troubles sometimes make us turn to more flexible private transport, among which the most popular ones are bicycles and scooters.
However, new concerns come after the smart choice: is it really safe to ride a bike or an e-scooter in a metropole like Paris, most of whose routes are too narrow to separate a lane for bikes? Another fact worth noticing is that the accident rate regarding bicyclists has augmented by 30% since January in Paris. This tendency is not surprisingly in positive correlation with the rapid increased number of bicycle users due to the coronavirus situation and it can also be observed in many other cities. Therefore, we came up with this idea of mixed-mode commuting route planner application aiming to make the trip safer for soft mobility users, especially who just began to discover a new transport mode and feel unsecured in the traffics.
Whether you are a beginner or a pro in bicycles or scooters you can always find this application useful in daily transport thanks to the features like voice prompts, safety rate indicator, nearby bus nodes and "one-button call" function.

This application is a navigation map special for bicycle and scooter riders. When people input the place of departure and their destination, this app can automatically detect the routes between according to the following criterin: whether there is a seperate bike-lane, whether it is an accident prone area, whether it is bike-riding-friendly that doesn't contain much slopes or bumpy surface, ect. After analyzing, the app can offer several choices, containing the shorted and fast route, the safest route, and the most recommand route(which is both safe and labor saving), and each route will be marked with safety rate indicator, so the rider can easily choose according to their demands. Besides visual route that will be offered through screen, this application also offers the voice prompts for people to hear navigation while riding.

Being the most worldwide popular platform in navigation domain, Googlemap is an extremely powerful tool. You can switch between public transport and private transport effortlessly on its application or website, nevertheless the propositions are not always ecofriendly like driving or calling taxi. Meanwhile, our application insists on sustainable commuting, in which you can only find options like bicycle, scooter and public transport.
According to their website, Géovelo is an application that takes you on the best secure routes and offers thematic walks in the heart of the capital and in the metropolis. It is specially designed for facilitating trips on bicycles that bike lanes are marked up and altitude is precised while planning a travel. In this way, bicyclists can have an overall view in evaluating the safety of the route chosen. What differentiate our application from Géovelo is that we will provide a safety rate based on more complexed analysis of availability of bike lane, width of route, traffic saturation degree… to give bicycle beginners more information on the route situation. Besides, we also introduce scooters and bus stops into our application as a complement in case bicyclists want to switch to faster scooter or bus while they feel tired.

when? where? who? why?
In 2020, soft mobility is no longer a new concept for everyone, and with the changes such as public bike, e-scooter or electric car, many people have noticed the change in their lifes. It's understandable that in our fast-pace life, we can hardly care about the earth that much when we have our rent, our bills, and our working troubles to balance.
One main problem to promote the environmental friendly measure is that even though most people know such measures can help our planet, but the result are not data-intensive. If I changed my car from Gasoline to electirc, I can not see my credit for doing that. This lacking of visible prograss would make people only focus on the inconvennience brought by the changhes. Our project goal is to promote the application of soft mobility, and show people who rarely use soft mobility the changes they can bring to the world once they use more environmental friendly means. With our applicantion, we can provide people with clear and visible result about how much effort they have done. And we will also grow a habit in our users mind to choose soft mobility using some rewarding system.

Citymapper is a public transit app and mapping service which displays transport options, usually with live timing, between any two locations in a supported city. It integrates data for all urban modes of transport, including walking, cycling and driving, in addition to public transport. The difference between this app and our project is that we offer the possibilty to find out how much money you have saved by using soft mobility, and how much gas you have avoided emitting, whereas city mapper only offers the number of calories burned per trip.
This is the most popular application to get from point A to point B, however google map is less accurate than citymapper. However they have recently added a new feature which is counting calories burned, however they decided to remove it as it has been the subject of much criticism. The difference with our app is that with our app we will encourage people to use more soft mobility by giving them at the end of the day more information than just the number of calories burned, and it will look like a game, they will gain experience after each trip and then go upstairs again and they will be able to compare themselves with their friends through social networks.
